- 12 figs, cut in half
- 6-8 tablespoons pomegranate juice
- 2 tablespoons Demerara (you may substitute light brown sugar)
- zest of 1 orange, finely grated
- ¼ cup blanched almonds
- ½ cup halal yogurt
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Place figs, cut side up, on a cookie sheet, pour pomegranate juice over each, and sprinkle Demerara over the tops.
Sprinkle the orange zest, then place a few larger almonds on each fig, and sprinkle the balance of the almonds around them.
Place in oven for 10-12 minutes, until soft.
Serve hot, with yogurt and honey.
