• 12 figs, cut in half
  • 6-8 tablespoons pomegranate juice
  • 2 tablespoons Demerara (you may substitute light brown sugar)
  • zest of 1 orange, finely grated
  • ¼ cup blanched almonds
  • ½ cup halal yogurt
  • honey

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Step 2

Place figs, cut side up, on a cookie sheet, pour pomegranate juice over each, and sprinkle Demerara over the tops.

Step 3

Sprinkle the orange zest, then place a few larger almonds on each fig, and sprinkle the balance of the almonds around them.

Step 4

Place in oven for 10-12 minutes, until soft.

Serve hot, with yogurt and honey.
